New Appointment of School Chaplain: Reverend Annabel Copeland
Last half term we said goodbye to Reverend Jon Hutchinson after many faithful years of service and welcome our new Chaplain Annabel Copeland.
Annabel has 15 years’ teaching experience and gave up being a deputy head to become an ordained minister and has a real passion for chaplaincy work in schools.
The current Christian Distinctiveness team are excited to have Annabel join the team in September. Kirsty Lacey, lead teacher of Christian Distinctiveness says:
“When I found out that Revd. Jon was leaving us for pastures new, I knew that we had some very big shoes to fill! Whilst Revd. Jon will be sorely missed by both staff and students alike, we feel very blessed to have Revd. Annabel join the team as chaplain to both Bluecoat Wollaton and Bluecoat Aspley. She will be a great addition to our Bluecoat family and I look forward to welcoming her properly when she starts in September.”
Nicola Freeman, Christian Youth Worker WPC says: “Annabelle seems perfect for the role and we are so excited about working with her. She will be a great pastoral support to staff and students alike. Hearing her story and all the experience she has gathered both in education and within the church we believe she is going to provide vital support in the development of Christian Distinctiveness in the school moving forward.”
