No ear jewellery may be worn in the academy, including the wearing of ‘clear’ studs. Plasters may not be worn to cover earrings or any other piercing. If students are wearing jewellery in the academy, this will be confiscated from them and placed in envelopes then returned to them at the end of the week, on the Friday. If jewellery is confiscated on a Friday it will be returned the following Friday. In the rare case that a student repeats this behaviour and needs jewellery confiscating a second time in a half term, the jewellery will not be given back to them until the last day of the half-term.
  11. All students are expected to bring their essential five-a-day of equipment: pen, pencil, ruler, eraser, and calculator. Students are also heavily encouraged to bring their own whiteboard pen and highlighters. Scissors should not be brought in to the academy.

As part of our uniform standards, we only expect students to wear badges on their uniform that have been awarded to them by the academy. Staff may ask students to remove any other form of pin badges or accessories being worn on uniform as these are not deemed as part of academy uniform.

Items of religious or cultural significance: The principal may grant exceptions to any of the above, but only where this is required as a matter of sincere religious observance or cultural significance and where this can be substantiated by a letter from a relevant religious or community leader.

Electrical items/valuables are not allowed on the Academy site. Mobile phones can be brought into the Academy at the students’ risk but must be switched off before entering the premise and placed inside the student’s bag. Smart watches are not permitted. Headphones (wired or wireless) are not permitted. There are a number of sanctions given where the rules on electronic devices are not followed. The Academy takes no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged electronic devices as they are not permitted on site.
