Bluecoat Wollaton Academy congratulates its’ amazing students on another year of tremendous GCSE results
After several years of disruption due to COVID, students at Bluecoat Wollaton have finally got back to ‘normal’ this summer sitting their exams, and although it will have been a long wait for them, we couldn’t be more proud of their outcomes.
As per Bluecoat Wollaton’s reputation, our students have achieved GCSE results which are once again exceptionally high, with students at the Academy out performing national expectations.
“We are immensely proud, as ever, of the achievements of all our students at Bluecoat Wollaton Academy.” said Phil Rowson, Vice Principal, becoming Principal in September. “For some students this means incredible Grades 7s, 8s and 9s, and for other students this is putting in huge effort; overcoming personal obstacles to obtain grades which enable them to continue to further education. We know how hard our students have worked over the last three years, despite the significant challenges, to achieve these outstanding results.”
There are many success stories to choose from, but just some of those hard-working students include:
- Daanish who earned an impressive eight Grade 9s, a Grade 8, a Grade 7 and a Distinction*– wow!
- Ayan who had the most impressive progress across the school, and achieved on average two grades above expected results in every subject!
- Bethan who also made incredible progress in every subject, earning four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s, an A* and a Distinction*.
- Sam who put in an incredible work ethic in his revision over the last year and has reaped the rewards with passes in Maths and Science, as well as an impressive grade B in Childcare, a Grade 5 in English Language and a Grade 7 in English Literature. An example to everyone that success is the result of small efforts day in day out.
Bluecoat Wollaton one of only three ‘World Class Lead’ schools, is celebrating as the percentage of students achieving both GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or above is well above historical national averages and represent exceptional outcomes. Results have been impressive across the full curriculum, with excellent outcomes in GCSE Physics, Creative Media, Childcare, Sociology and History in particular. Progress for the school is expected to remain high following strong performances in the full range of EBacc subjects.
Stuart Anderson (Principal) went on to say “The results are not only a testament to the students, but also to the commitment and efforts of the teaching and support staff here at Bluecoat Wollaton, who believe in all students and empower them to achieve their potential.”
