Dear Parents/Carers/Community of BWA,
We need you! At Bluecoat Wollaton, we are always keen to broaden our outreach and also gain the best for the students within our community. As some of you may know there has been some work going on behind the scenes, and we are very excited to say that the process of setting up our very own PTA is underway.
For those of you who aren’t aware, a PTA is a group of parents, teachers and friends who meet regularly to plan events and activities to raise funds for a school/academy. The funds raised will either have charitable status or be spent on things the school budget doesn’t cover. Almost all PTAs are involved in fundraising and oversee and organise social events for parents and children. Running clubs, such as dance, sport or drama, can fall under PTAs job role, as can organising outings and special events. Recent figures show that the average Parent Teacher Association raises around £8000 a year, improving the school experience for millions of children.
Perhaps you were part of a PTA/community group at your child’s previous school, perhaps you want to give back to our local community or perhaps you just want to connect with local parents/carers…? All are welcome.
Dates for the next meetings will appear on this page, along with upcoming and past events.
We look forward to working together with you all.
