GCSE Exam Results – Summer 2026
Bluecoat Wollaton have had a fantastic set of GCSE results with an increase in all attainment measures. Our attainment 8 score of 53.5, 58% of students achieving a Grade 5 or above in English and Maths (6% increase from 2025) and 74% of students gaining Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (3% increase) means that there are increases in all measures. Our already high attainment figures have been further exceeded which is testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, staff and parents. A huge congratulations to all!
So many of our wonderful Bluecoat Wollaton students excelled this academic year. No more so than Annie Bell and Mika Makareem with Attainment 8 scores of 9. A huge congratulations on their successful grade 9s. Their continual hard work, dedication and brilliance has made us all incredibly proud. Mika leaves us to continue his student career at Bilborough College to study Biology, Chemistry and Maths. Annie will attend West Bridgford Sixth Form to study English Literature, Biology and Chemistry. We can’t wait to see what she does next!
Tiargo Passarelli-Wynter and Yann Swarbrick also shone through. Despite feeling disappointed with grades earlier in their GCSE careers, these students have gone above and beyond to excel with Yann achieving 7 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8 and 1 Grade 7 and Tiargo achieving a grade 9, 8 Grade 8s and a Grade 7.
Another outstanding achiever is our esteemed Head Girl, Bipasha Chowdhary. She is Wollaton to her core and her impact on our academy, our students staff and community have been huge. We were delighted to celebrate your 4 Grade 9s and 7 Grade 8s.
Without doubt, we couldn’t be happier for Zain Anwar and Eden Smith who have been the most modest and hard working during their entire time at BWA with sixteen Grade 9s between them. They are a true testament to believing in ourselves, each other and God.
Taha Alizadeh joined BWA part way through from Iran. At this time, he had minimal English and joined our early readers group. From this point, Taha has had astronomical progress and astounded every single staff member who has taught him, achieving 4 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s and leaves us with 14 qualifications having done additional Maths and Persian GCSES. We have been privileged to watch his journey through the academy. He is not only incredibly academically able but also a true example of work hard; show respect. We wish him all the best at West Bridgford Sixth Form as he goes on to pursue his dreams of studying medicine.
