Congratulations to all the students who represented Bluecoat Wollaton Academy on Wednesday afternoon at the City Cross Country Championships. The competitions were split into the following age groups: Year7; Year 8 and 9 combined; and Year 10 and 11 combined. Our students braved the cold against hundreds of other competitors from across the city schools and were great ambassadors not just in their own races but around Wollaton Park and in their conduct and support for all the athletes that were competing.

We are delighted to report that 11 of our students have been successful in achieving a position in the top 12 for their event, meaning that they have been selected to represent Nottingham City at the County Championships in February. There needs to be a special mention for Amy Smith (7WI) as she placed 4th, Abneer Ifran (9WT) as he placed 3rd, and Iraina Han (10WR) as she placed 4th..
